Our Approach

St. Joseph Orphanage is a comprehensive behavioral health and educational treatment agency that helps children and their families on the road to recovery and success.

Partnering with over 1,400 children and families every day, St. Joseph’s continuum of individualized services gives us the special opportunity to meet the emotional, psychological, and educational needs of the people in our care.

Individualized Treatment

Every youth at St. Joseph Orphanage is treated as a unique individual with treatment plans tailored to fit their own individual strengths and needs. Recognizing that all children come into our care with different histories and concerns, an individualized approach results in establishing realistic and personal goals and achievements.

Continuum of Care

St. Joseph Orphanage provides a diversified continuum of care and support services for neglected, abused, and emotionally troubled children and their families. This continuum give us the opportunity to guide the youth and family through all levels and intensity of care. Though a supportive network of residential treatment options, individual therapy, special education, community support and transition services, we create a team of professionals who will be there every step of the way.

Evidence Based

St. Joseph Orphanage is committed to ensuring that children and youth receive excellent mental health care and support. The use of evidence-based practices (EBP) is a key component to the quality of services we provide and the high level of success/satisfaction our youth and families achieve.  Utilizing and researching evidence-based practices and data-based decision making, ensures we are able to continuously improve our quality of care.  Read more.

Special Education

Our Specialized Education programs provide intensive and comprehensive services to meet the educational needs of children with serious cognitive, emotional, behavioral, learning, and/or social problems who are unable to succeed in community school settings. We provide the least restrictive environment in which special education, structured programming, low student to staff ratios, and meaningful relationships with staff are used to help children achieve their optimal level of functioning, meet with academic success, and reduce presenting behavior problems.

Family and Community Centered

The involvement of family and community helps children and youth develop healthy behavior and promote healthy relationships.  Knowing the importance of these resources, we strive to keep close family involvement and work to maintain a child’s placement in the community.
